Stagger review

Posted : 10 years, 2 months ago on 9 March 2015 06:19 (A review of Stagger)

Stagger a film by Paul EASTER

(UK 2010: Dir Paul Easter)

The film follows the stumbling Suffolk streetwise lads in Jake's ragtag crew. When by chance Jake's chemist formulates a highly addictive street drug named STAGGER! Still every unstable and any side effects are far from known. Jake is happy the use the local Suffolk populous as human guinea pigs. Jake is an illegal rave organizer and finds a easy way in for his new drug RAVERS!. Soon London gangsters known as the J1 crew hear of this new cut Stagger and travel to Suffolk to gain the formula.Jake soon finds his luck may of changed and not for the best.

A very ambitious film for any film maker yet alone a first time film maker. Some noteworthy performances from
(James Fisher,) as Mad Larry, (Jim Ford,)as Mr.Brick, both were believable as London gangsters. Jake's girlfriend Emma, played by (Holly McKeon,) had some memorable scenes.(Mark Margason,) played the likable and humerus role of Stud, and (Robert Turner,) played a vulnerable younger brother Tomo, also a believable performance.

Jake played by (Easter,) himself ranged from very good to average! Think it is clear Directing and Acting in a lead role would have been a daunting prospect. Even for any well established actor simply to much to think about.

However i recently watched (Halfway to Heaven)
(a James Sharpe film)
I will review this film in a later blog.Easter's performance as Patrick, was excellent under direction i think Easter could be a very good actor.
Perhaps
(James Sharpe,) The Director had seen a early glimmering light in Easter before his acting career had started.

Stagger round up
Film making in terms of effort. 9/10
A striking film packed with action and stunts. 8/10
Overall as a film in it's own right. 7/10
